Award certificate presented by Mayor Kimberley Driscoll to Salem Garden Club for outstanding contribution and commitment in helping to beautify the beloved City of Salem and improving the quality of life here for all

2006 Massachusetts Federation of Garden Clubs

  • Historic Preservation Grant, $1000

Improvement of the garden at the Brookhouse Home for Ladies located at Derby Street, Salem, MA 01970

Restoration of the garden included $4000 for the walkways, $1200 for the six white benches and $4,720 for the arbor with benches. Improvements were funded by the MA. Federation grant, the Salem Garden Club, Brookhouse Home and outside gifts.

2006 Historic Salem Inc.

  • Special Plaque for Organizational Achievement

The Salem Garden Club in recognition of their contributions to the improvement of Salem, including maintaining the gardens at Historic Brookhouse Home and the Emmerton House, decorating houses and sponsoring the Holiday Boutique for many years in conjunction with Christmas in Salem; maintaining decorative beds throughout the City; and their recent commitment to create and maintain new plantings in Salem’s downtown.
