SALEM GARDEN CLUB PROGRAM
2008~2009

Please note meeting dates carefully. An * indicates a change from usual 1st Thursday date and location. Unless otherwise indicated, all meetings take place at the First Church in Salem, 316 Essex Street. Refreshments are served at 6:45 PM, the SGC business meeting starts at 7:15, and our program starts promptly at 7:30. Watch for the time of various workshops as they vary according to location and activity. There are no program meetings in January, July, and August.

WELCOME MEMBERS MEETING

This meeting will be an opportunity to meet the 2008 - 2009 Salem Garden Club Officers, board members, and new members. Holiday Boutique and our various club activity leaders will also speak about opportunities for members throughout the year.

We will have a signup sheet and prepay of $25 for the October
workshop that will be held at Flowers by Darlene on 130 Canal
Street in Salem at 7 pm.

All members are needed for this annual major fundraising event. Enjoy, share and learn from the creativity of fellow garden club members. Participants may make purchases at the workshop. Workshop will be held downstairs in the church. .

See behind the scenes of the MFA’s festival of art and flowers along with selected views of the outstanding floral arrangements created to complement chosen museum masterpieces. A floral demo will follow including arranging tips.

Maria will describe a beautiful alternative to the sterile, look-alike, overgrown foundation plantings. Her presentation of historical and contemporary examples from New England gardens illustrate the possibilities.

Paul has hosted “Paul Parent Garden Club” every Sunday morning from 6 am to 10 am on his syndicated talk show on the Golden Broadcasting Network for the last 23 years and today he visits our Salem Garden Club. Please remember to bring your gardening questions!

ANNUAL DINNER
Presentation of “Blooming Art” by Bill Graham
of “Beautiful Things”

Our Annual dinner will be held at the Salem Country Club from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Bill will be interpretation pieces of art in to beautiful floral arrangements. There will be a raffle of various floral arrangements and table centerpieces. We welcome guests at this dinner.
